Lights

Sunday night Michael and I took Gabe done to Munn Park to see all the Christmas lights, we thought he would be thrilled!! He didn't take the best nap and since he goes to bed at 7:30 when he's taken a long nap at 6:30 he was already exhausted and didn't really care anything about the lights. We will try again soon and see if a well rested Gabe is more enthusiastic about the Christmas lights.

Gabe is really loving all the Christmas decorations Gigi and I are getting put up in the house. He tells us the trees are pretty and really likes the big train we have set up under the tree in Gavin's room. That is where we put our ornaments and are putting our Christmas presents.
Pop Pop also has a village in the den and Gabe thinks that is really cool.
We have many Christmas singing things that Gabe loves to press all the buttons and drive Mommy crazy with, I will try and remember to video him dancing to the music.
In other news(other then Christmas) Gabe is talking so much everyday it is something new and he is constantly amazing us. He says a lot of words and pretty much everything is very easy to understand, he is speaking really well. He has also learned how to open doors and now just comes walking out of his room looking for me when he wakes up. We are going to be getting some doorknob child proof covers now because he opened the back door when Gigi was watching him the other day and went out onto the deck to play (Mommy was at the doctor).
When I was in Gabe's room the other day he got a book out and was reading it on his bed, he really turns the pages and talks like he is reading the story. When he got to the end he closed the book and said "Amen". I guess he is associating "amen" with being the end of something, I'm not sure. It was just so cute, he is so silly!!!

Happy Birthday to ME!!!

Today is my 24th birthday and I woke up to a very nice surprise from my sweet husband.

Michael leaves for work well before I wake up so he did this before he left. He said he even had to wake up 10 minutes early to get it done!! I have the best husband ever!!!

Gavin's Room

We have done some remodeling at my parents house to make this room for Gavin. It was a huge room that had the computer and the dog beds in it. The room was huge about 12x20 so my parents decided we would build a wall and then Gavin would have his own room and they would still have a guest room.
We still have room for the computer desk and bookcases in the new other half of the room and once we leave they will have a nice office where Gavin was. They figured it will only add value to the house and it wasn't very hard to do.
Uncle Alex and Pop Pop put the frame up for the wall in a day. Somehow I ended up with no pictures of anyone other than Gabe working on the wall and room. Then Michael, Pop Pop, Gigi and I put the first set of french doors in another night. We still have to get another set of french doors to put in the other hole but we are going to do that after Christmas, so we have a curtain up where the doors will go leading in to the dining room/foyer.Michael, Pop Pop and I hung the drywall the next weekend. Mr. Kim a wonderful friend of ours came over and taped the corners and showed Pop Pop and Michael how to put the mud up that weekend. On Monday the guys mudded the wall and textured it to match the room. We painted that week and worked on molding. I still have to paint the french doors and touch up all the molding but I may wait till get the other doors and do it all at once.

The room has really turned out better then we imagined and I can't wait to start the real decorating.

I had been planning on doing an alphabet themed room but last time I was at the fabric store we found this dragon/castle fabric and feel in love with it. So now we are going to use that and do a Prince themed room with dragons and castles.

I think we are going to paint the small castle on the wall behind the crib with a Prince and then the large dragon as well. We will use this fabric the make the bumper and put it on the curtains as a border as well. I am trying to think of a cute saying to put on the wall with the paintings. My first thought was "Our Prince, Our Hero" I welcome any ideas so please give them.
So that is our little mans room we hope to have all the decorating done by Christmas so that everyone can see it when they are here.

More sugar, please!!

Monday I had my 28 week check-up and had to do my glucose test. The stuff I had to drink coats your throat and is pretty nasty but after an hour then of waiting they took my blood. The test came back fine so I can have all the sugar I want!!!
My blood pressure was great even lower then last time although I did gain 5 lbs. My tummy was bigger but was measuring on track. I will now start going to the doctor every 2 weeks. I still can't believe it is getting that close, it took me by surprise when they said that.
Gavin now weighs over 2 1/2 lbs and is about 15 inches long. He is getting so big and pretty soon all his vital organs will be working and he will just be putting on weight.
I am wanting to get a 3D ultrasound done so I am just waiting to see how much cash maybe I get for my birthday next week because we really can't afford it otherwise. If we do get to get it done I will probably try and do that next weekend.
I just realized the other day that I have yet to post anything about the nursery so I will get to that today, I promise. It is not finished but it is looking pretty good.

Footie P.J's

Last week when the temperature dropped down so low Gabe's woke up freezing in the morning put socks on just didn't work and none of his p.j's have long sleeves. We had to go find something that would keep my buddy warm.Daddy thought they looked pretty silly but they kept him nice and toasty and Gabe liked them a lot!! This morning instead of carrying his plate to the dining table he went straight out and set on the floor to eat his breakfast. It was so cute so I went ahead and let him enjoy his breakfast in front of the t.v.

Trick-or-Treat

Look at our sweet little pirate!!!

This was early in the afternoon and I had to go to Publix. I knew they were doing a little thing for Halloween so Gabe wanted to take his Little Einsteins trick-or-treat bag that we had made earlier in the day. He liked getting extra candy and cookies while we were at the store. I am sure next time we go to Publix he will be looking for the girls in costumes and the candy.

Here Gabe is in his costume that I made him, what a cute little pirate!! As soon as Daddy got home we headed to the mall to meet Emma and Ethan.

I also made Emma's costume and me and Gigi both worked on Ethan's they all looked so adorable. (Gigi also made Charles' but he was in Orlando with his sister who wore Gabe's turtle)
We all ate dinner together and then off we went to trick-or-treat!! I figured the mall was the best place to take a little man like Gabe. He loved getting all the candy but got worn out pretty quick.

Since we were already half way there we decided to go to Grammie and Papa's and let him do the real thing. He was so excited running up to the door with his bucket and was really excited once the door opened and he realized where we were. His cousin Caleb was there handing out candy for Papa. Gabe enjoyed some of his treats and then once the sugar kicked in he entertained us all for about 45 minutes.
All in all Gabe had a great Halloween!!
